At least 300 jobs for domestic and overseas employment will be offered during the two-day Jobs Fair to be held on April 24 , 30 and May 1, 2004 at the Gaisano Mall Atrium in Davao City. Ofelia D. Domingo, chief of the Employment Promotion Division (EPD) of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Xl, said the event is being held in line with the Labor Day celebration on May 1, 2004.
Domingo said up for grabs are managerial, supervisory and technical positions provided by leading companies, including food chains and agricultural firms.
Those interested are urged to apply with their resumé, certificate of employment, transcript of records and other credentials to facilitate placement.
During the two-day event, the DOLE-EPD together with the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) will facilitate the registration of applicants.
She said the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) and the National Statistics Office (NSO) have been invited to assist in the processing of applications.
On May 1, there will also be a jobs fair at the SM City Davao. The jobs fair will highlight the 3-day mall wide sale.
The public is advised to bring credentials for easy processing of documents, she said. Those who do not make it at the Gaisano Mall can proceed to SM City Davao’ Activity Area at the 2nd Level on May 1.
For overseas employment are positions for nurses, domestic helpers, baby sitters, cooks, laborers, drivers, caretakers, shoe makers, marble setters, food service crew, laboratory technicians, doctors, radiology technicians, electricians, accountants, performing artists, physical therapists, beauticians tutors, and other medical positions.
